Flying to Los Angeles!
There are several carriers that will fly from Bay Area airports to Los Angeles Area airports. The two cheapest carriers are Southwest and Virgin America. Here are some average fares (give or take a few $$).
Note: For those without someone to pick them up from the airport, a cab ride from LAX or Burbank to the Hotel is approximately $63. There are other cheaper options, such as Super Shuttle available at both LAX and Burbank airports.
Driving to Los Angeles!
The length of the trip to LA from the East Bay is approximately 6 hours by car at an average gas cost of $100-$150 roundtrip, depending on your gas mileage. EBYD will be working to arrange carpools to and from Downtown Los Angeles. With 4 people to a car, transportation to LA could cost as little as $25 per person round-trip.
Sharing is caring and we need some cars to share. If you would like to volunteer your car for carpooling or would like information on how to join a carpool, please email Reuben Duarte at reuben@ebyd.org

CYD will be piggy-backing off CDP discount codes for hotel room rates. Currently, the CDP has special arrangement with the JW Marriott, which is located right next to the Convention Center. *UPDATE: JW Marriott is sold out!
There are additional hotels in the vicinity of LA Live all within 1 block radius. Another hotel option would be the Sheraton Hotel Downtown, which is about 5-6 LA blocks from Convention site. This is the same as if you got off BART at Oakland City Center and walked to the Alameda County Superior Courthouse on Oak St at the western edge of Lake Marritt. To the right is a list of potential hotels.
The JW Marriott, while gorgeous, has relatively small rooms. We can put 4 people to a room with 2 double beds which would make accommodations cost as little as $44 per person per night. But these rooms aren’t good for bringing a sleeping bag and crashing on the floor.
How Much Will All This Cost?
Travel and accommodations in the cheapest scenario described above would come out to:
$157 + expenditures (such as food and trips to the bar).
