East Bay Young Dems (EBYD) was started in 2004 and held its first meeting in Hayward, CA. Back then, only a handful of activists attended. In the past five years, EBYD is the East Bay’s premier Democratic club for young working people (under 36-years old) and has grown to be one of the regions largest and most respected Democratic organizations. Now primarily based in Oakland, we are shaping the Democratic Party for the next generation and promoting the interests of young adults in local, state and national politics.
Get more young adults in the East Bay involved in politics and organize our members around candidates and issues that are important to us, including:

- Access to healthcare
- Climate change’s effects on the San Francisco Bay Area
- Affordable housing
- Reproductive rights
- Sustainable local economies

HOW IS EBYD RUN?
EBYD is governed by an executive committee made up of 13 elected members who’s tasked with carrying out the business of the club persuant to it’s by-laws.
